Planning For Two Weeks in Portugal

Overline

Booking our flights was the important first step

After deciding where we wanted to go and our activities, getting our flights is often the most expensive purchase. This trip we have decided to go business class since the trip to Europe is an “overnight” flight and we want to be rested and make the most of the first couple of days in Portugal.

Getting ready for Portugal

A travel book has proven to be essential. Provides details just not available in one place on the Internet. It is nice to have a convenient portable source of information that does not require a data connection. It gave us a lot of good ideas for walking tours in Porto and Lisbon. Thus far, we have not scheduled any guided tours.

After locking in our flights and deciding on destinations, Lauri booked our hotel stays.

We booked our hotels in Lisbon, Porto, Algarve and Sintra many months in advance. To have lots of time for active exploring we limited the amount of jumping around between hotels. Pictured to the right is our hotel in Sintra: The Sintra Boutique Hotel.
