Nova Scotia – Day 4 – Travel Day – Drive to Tattingstone Inn – June 17, 2025
Travel days are always a little tough because you are dedicating a day just traveling from one place to another
Day 4 Itinerary
Highlight of the day – Arriving at the Tattingstone Inn
The reason Lisa and Rob would not join us in Cape Breton Island: the 4 hour drive from Inverness to Wolfville
However, Carl and I are committed to telling Rob what a great time he missed.
In our travels across Nova Scotia we discovered some interesting facts. We noticed Tim Horton coffee shops all over the island. There are just less than 4,000 Tim Horton coffee shops across Canada, making it the largest quick-serve restaurant chain.
90% of Nova Scotia which is wild forest has little to no cell phone service. Only the towns have service. Any time you travel from town to town you have no phone service.

The history of Wolfville, Nova Scotia dates back to the 1600s. As in Cape Breton, The Native American tribe called Mi’kmaqs inhabited for 1,000s of years. In 1680 the French arrived which were known as the Acadians. A few short decades later, Wolfville was conquered by the English. The French Acadians were expelled through the “Deportation of the Acadians” act.
Arrival at the Tattingstone Inn
There is a big difference between Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Cape Breton is rustic where beautiful nature abounds with very little civilization. It is remote! Arriving at the Tattingstone Inn in Wolfville felt life a native from the wild arriving at the king’s palace. Wolfville is a pretty town of tree lined streets and lot of boutique shops. The Tattingstone Inn is a majestic Inn sitting on a hill with pretty flowers planted around the grounds with opulent rooms.

Our room is like a spacious apartment.

Thoughts for the day :
Lauri :
I love all of the eating out.

I am already tired of restaurant food and want to get back to Lauri’s home cooking.
