Hiking Sedona
A desert town that is an oasis in the Arizona desert provides incredible hiking. Beautiful views of red-rock cliffs amid pine forests make Sedona one of the most sought after destinations for hikers. The incredible number of trails are well marked and a stop by The Hiker’s Hut in downtown Sedona will provide you with any hiking accessories you need. Don’t forget to pick up a trail map there.
Sedona has reputation for being a spiritual mecca with energy hot spots often referred to as vortexes. I am not sure I experienced them like the brochures claim but I sure had fun hiking to their locations.
It was great to have our son, Brandon, with us for this trip. We stayed at an awesome house that had huge picture glass windows overlooking magnificent views of the red rocks. On one of our morning hikes we ran into a javelina, a four legged animal that looks like a furry pig. We enjoyed dozens of hikes in and around Sedona.
